At Flippin’ Clothes, we specialise in vintage and pre-loved clothing, meaning every item is unique. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order.
This policy is designed to comply with UK consumer law while recognising the nature of second-hand clothing.
14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Under UK distance selling regulations, customers have the right to cancel an order within 14 days of receiving their item.
If you wish to return an item under this cooling-off period:
- You must notify us within 14 days of delivery
- The item must be returned within 14 days of notifying us
- The item must be unworn, unwashed, and in the same condition received
- Any original tags or labels must remain attached
Customers are responsible for return postage costs unless the item is faulty or incorrectly described.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on our part.
Vintage & Pre-Owned Clothing Condition
All items sold by Flippin’ Clothes are second-hand or vintage unless clearly stated otherwise.
This means items may show normal signs of wear consistent with age, including but not limited to:
- light fading
- minor marks
- fabric ageing
- small imperfections
These characteristics are considered part of the nature of vintage clothing and are not treated as faults unless they significantly differ from the item description.
We make every effort to photograph and describe any notable flaws.
Sizing Disclaimer
Vintage sizing can differ from modern sizing standards.
For this reason:
- We strongly recommend checking measurements provided in the listing
- Returns based solely on fit or sizing issues may be refused if measurements were clearly provided
If you are unsure about sizing, please contact us before purchasing.
Faulty or Misdescribed Items
If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or significantly different from the description, please contact us within 14 days of delivery.
Where confirmed, we will offer:
- A full refund, or
- A replacement item (if available)
In these cases we will also cover reasonable return postage costs.
Condition of Returned Items
Returned items must be received in the same condition they were sent.
We cannot accept returns if items have:
- been worn
- been washed
- been altered
- acquired new damage
- been exposed to smoke, perfume, or strong odours
If a returned item arrives in a different condition, we may refuse the refund or apply a deduction to reflect the loss in value.
Hygiene & Non-Returnable Items
For hygiene reasons, the following items may not be returned unless faulty:
- underwear
- swimwear
- pierced jewellery
- items marked Final Sale
Refund Processing
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will process the refund.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
Please allow 5–10 working days for the refund to appear depending on your payment provider.
Return Shipping
Customers returning items are responsible for ensuring items are securely packaged.
We strongly recommend using a tracked postal service, as Flippin’ Clothes cannot be responsible for items lost during return transit.
How to Request a Return
To start a return, please contact us with:
- your order number
- the item you wish to return
- the reason for return
Email: support@flippinclothes.com
We will provide instructions for sending the item back.
Photographic Condition Verification
For quality control purposes, items may be photographed and documented before dispatch.
This allows us to verify the condition of items in the event of a return dispute.
If a returned item is found to be in a different condition to when it was shipped, the return may be refused or a reduction in refund value may be applied in line with UK consumer regulations.
Tags & Security Labels
Where an item is supplied with tags, labels, or security attachments, these must remain attached for the item to be eligible for return.
If tags or security labels have been removed, tampered with, or reattached, the return may be declined as the item will be considered used beyond reasonable inspection.
Excessive Returns
We reserve the right to monitor return activity to prevent misuse of our returns policy.
If we identify patterns of excessive returns or suspected misuse (such as purchasing items for temporary use and returning them), we may refuse future orders or returns in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Your Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
